What is OSIsoft and who is it for?

Andreas Gerber: OSIsoft (now Aveva) is a leading global provider of a system for the long-term archiving of production data. With its wide variety of interfaces and connectors, there is virtually no data source that cannot be easily connected to the PI Historian. Ideally, the system is scalable and can therefore be used in both small and large companies.

OSIsoft originally came from the oil and gas industry, but today it is one of the market leaders in many industries when it comes to data archiving. Since it is a validated system, it is also widely used in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, where CTE operates.

How does the system benefit customers in their day-to-day work?

Andreas Gerber: With OSIsoft’s system, our customers have access to their production data anytime, anywhere. The current COVID-19 crisis highlights just how important data-driven services are. Even in industry and manufacturing, digitalization is unstoppable and is becoming increasingly important. Rapid, location-independent access to data is becoming more and more crucial and, at the end of the day, can be a decisive competitive advantage.

What services do we offer as an integrator?

Andreas Gerber: We offer our customers one-stop solutions: Our services cover the entire project lifecycle, from defining requirements through system commissioning to ongoing System Maintenance. By providing support even after the project is complete, we ensure our customers are not left on their own during the operational phase.
