Peter Bürgin is the so-called founding father of the CTE family. After holding various positions at well-known chemical and pharmaceutical companies in the region, the ETH mechanical engineer founded CTE in 1990. With major projects in the pharmaceutical industry, which were pioneering in terms of size and project scope as well as the degree of automation, CTE was able to specialise in software engineering at an early stage.
Today, CTE positions itself holistically, from instrumentation solutions to hardware engineering and all software. CTE intends to continue setting new standards in this area in the future.
If you ask Peter Bürgin what he particularly likes to remember about his time at the company, he mentions all of CTE's anniversary events. He enjoys spending time with the CTE family. You can breathe the culture and the vision. The company values are not just empty words. Peter Bürgin knows: "Despite all the new tools and possibilities, we must not forget that the competition never sleeps. To stay ahead of the game, we need innovative approaches that support and meet the new needs of our customers. We have been practising this way of thinking for over 30 years and therefore have the potential to keep up with these developments!"
This is exactly how the CTE team works. The agile corporate culture ensures that complex tasks can be perfectly mastered. In the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, practically all projects are still unique. Even with optimal modularisation of functionalities, the effective copying process remains elusive. The number and size of batches of the same product are also becoming smaller and smaller, meaning that the flexibility of recipe creation has to increase constantly, which leads to a disproportionate increase in the complexity of automation systems.
However, we at CTE are confident that we will all grow together with the requirements. We are proud to be working in an industry where requirements are constantly increasing. This is a guarantee for our continued existence and further development in the future!
