OT network and system landscape for a new production plant

Pronatec built its own cocoa production facility with an area of 7,000 m² at the Schaffhausen site. CTE was mandated with the integration of an IT / OT infrastructure with sufficient security for the new production plant. The assignment involved the creation of:

• Highly available and secure network

• VPN to the head office

• WLAN on the whole area

• Video surveillance throughout the site

• Virtualisation (highly available)

• Backup system

• Integration of the production facilities

Thanks to our experience from similar projects, we were able to quickly determine the requirements for the necessary system landscape and identify suitable solutions. After inspecting the site, taking stock/analysing the infrastructure and evaluating the requirements, a topology plan for the system landscape was drawn up and a concept for integrating the production facilities into the system landscape was developed. A high-availability network specially designed by CTE for industrial environments was used for the implementation. Proven cyber security concepts were implemented as security measures. Our standardised video surveillance technologies were installed to increase occupational safety.

All solutions were put into operation on time and without any problems within 6 months using proven products from CTE's Industrial IT product portfolio. The integration and networking of the various production systems also took place without any disruptions.

After commissioning, CTE continues to support the entire life cycle of the systems used. This includes updates and maintenance of all systems provided by CTE. In addition to maintenance, CTE also offers a 24/7 on-call service in the event of system failures.
