Mission statement 2025: Transparent

When we started working on the topic of "Transparent" at the beginning of 2025, it was initially unclear to us how we could actually implement this mission statement. So we asked ourselves: What does transparency mean to us?

For us, it means communicating openly and honestly, sharing information promptly and approaching each other at an early stage in the event of difficulties. It means learning from mistakes and knowing who the right contacts are. But how do we translate this into concrete measures during the mission statement year?

We delved deeper into the topic in several meetings. Our aim was not just to talk about transparency, but to actively live it. Particularly in view of the construction progress on the new building, it was important for us to keep all employees informed about the current status and relocation plans. We also introduced a regular internal newsletter at the beginning of the year to involve the team even more closely and provide regular insights into internal news, projects and successes.

For our annual mission statement event, we came up with the idea of experiencing the mission statement theme in a playful way. The excursion took us to an escape room. This is where you are naturally confronted with the topics of communication and transparency, two central aspects of our mission statement. We found the ideal location at Room Escape Basel. We were supported by coach Silvia, who accompanied us through the day and and was in close contact with the escape room team to reflect on our performances in the context of the theme.

We started off with an icebreaker "Paint what the other person describes without seeing it". It quickly became clear how important clear and transparent communication is. Afterwards, one group solved puzzles in the escape rooms, while the other group solved an employee puzzle . A great opportunity to get to know each other even better. The day showed us that transparency doesn't just mean talking openly, but also having trust, sharing common goals and really understanding the people in the team with all their strengths and idiosyncrasies. This feeling of openness and team spirit became even more palpable at the end of the day at the bar, with good food, lots of conversation and board and card games

A big thank you goes to my mission statement team colleagues, Fabian Meury, Jannik Bruttel, Gerhard Schnydrig, Jean-Pierre Fuhrer and Luc Weishar, for your creativity, energy and commitment. It was a pleasure to experience this special day with you!
