PIM system renewal

The primary task was to connect thirteen plants to a central platform (AVEVA PI Historian) to ensure the archiving of process data. This data was to be used in particular for the creation of batch reports within the production log. An essential part of the contract was the implementation of a proof of concept to check the feasibility of the new system with regard to the specific reporting requirements.

ControlTech Engineering started with a careful analysis of the customer's requirements and selected AVEVA PI for its ability to efficiently prepare data for reporting purposes and integrate it with other systems. The implementation phase was characterized by a systematic approach including preparatory work, creation of specification documents, installation and configuration of the data collector as well as validation of the data preparation and connection of the plants to the new system.

The introduction of AVEVA PI has proven to be a significant step forward, not only in terms of data processing and integration, but also bysimplifying and automating the workflow, which will lead to greater operational efficiency and cost reduction. The connection of the various operations provided new insights and led to a continuous adaptation and expansion of the system environment. The project results show a clear added value through the new system platform, which is convincing in terms of flexibility as well as compliance and quality requirements .

The pilot project has been completed, the connections have been made and the old data has been moved. In the next step, all functions for data preparation 'Batch Report Ready' will be implemented and validated in the target system AVEVA PI.
