This is how our CTE development process works for automation and industrial IT projects.

Different teams work in different systems, because CTE is system-independent.

Industrial automation is a process in which the manual control of machines and systems is replaced by technologies that can perform these tasks automatically. This includes a variety of technologies, including robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and industrial IT systems. Through automation, companies can increase their efficiency and productivity, improve the quality of their products and minimise human error.

As your partner in industrial automation, CTE has a structured approach to achieving your goals. This is exactly what we specialise in. We optimise processes and workflows. That's why our project workflow is standardised. We analyse, design, program, implement and maintain. On request, we can support the project from A to Z or take over parts of it.

Automation and industrial IT according to different models of collaboration

We are flexible and prepared to operate according to different models of collaboration. For example, we are familiar with IPD (Integrated Project Delivery), which intensifies collaboration between different project participants. It is exciting to see how our teams quickly find their feet in other roles. We advocate early involvement as well as an extended planning and design phase in our project process in order to proactively obtain agreement on the ideal solution for our customers. Open communication and an innovative project environment are part of our own standards - and we maintain the same with our customers.

1

Requirements and concept phase

Regardless of whether a new process is to be introduced, a procedure improved or a problem solved, at the beginning there is an idea in our heads of what the result should look like. This idea, formulated in requirements and wishes, is specified, categorised and supplemented by us where necessary.

Goals

"This is exactly how I imagined it". This is what we want to hear from our customers at the end of every project.

Procedure

The categorised requirements collected in a list are assigned to a document as soon as they are recorded, in which the detailed implementation is described. With the help of overview layouts and concepts, we work with you to define the right cornerstones and technologies for the project.

Results

We use the requirements list to ensure that no requirements are overlooked. With the help of layouts and concepts, we ensure that we have incorporated your ideas into our "mindset" and that you receive the customised solution you need.

2

Specification phase

Based on the understanding we have gained, we develop the exact specifications for your industrial IT or automation solutions.

Goals

The specification must meet today's and tomorrow's requirements. The aim is therefore to ensure that specifications are not only understood by our specialists today, but also support operators in their day-to-day business in the future.

Procedure

Based on the developed specifications and further detailed concepts, we discuss various solution variants with you and draw up the corresponding specification, regardless of whether this is a hardware or software specification.

Results

Once the specification is approved, we give the green light for our motivated team to start implementing your custom solution.

3

Implementation phase

Our specialist team gets to work, configuring, programming and testing.

Goals

Professional documentation and implementation of your solution.

Procedure

Our technical experts put their heart and soul into implementing your solution. Thanks to their extensive specialist knowledge and their relationship with the customer, specifications are not implemented blindly. Improvements or necessary adjustments are reported immediately and the best option is determined in consultation with you.

Results

We attach great importance to quality, which is why the implementations are checked internally before the actual test phase.

4

Commissioning

There is always time pressure towards the end of the project. The previous test phases ensure efficient commissioning on our part.

Goals

The implementation is successfully handed over to the operator.

Procedure

We carry out commissioning in accordance with test plans drawn up in advance. Our team is actively involved from the line test to the final commissioning.

Results

A thoroughly tested solution so that there are no unpleasant surprises during operation.

5

Project completion

After commissioning, the project is not yet finished for us. We ensure that you receive complete final documentation.

Goals

All documents are up to date and are handed over to the customer.

Procedure

We ensure that the customer receives the final documentation promptly, up-to-date and as built, and that it is archived by us. We then conduct a final meeting with the customer and incorporate their feedback into our continuous improvement process (CIP).

Results

A successful project completion for all involved.

More about automation
An IT expert sits relaxed on the data centre floor, immersed in optimising complex network structures on his laptop. This picture illustrates CTE's expertise in providing highly available, future-proof and security-oriented network solutions, essential for increasing performance in the networked manufacturing industry and meeting the Industry 4.0 vision.

Information needs Industrial IT

As specialists in process automation, we also know our way around qualified IT infrastructures. As a Microsoft Gold Partner with a focus on "Networking Infrastructure Solutions", CTE is designed for highly available, long-term usable and, above all, secure networks.

Our services are aimed at manufacturing companies that require comprehensive expertise in terms of software and hardware. The basis of IIOT and Industry 4.0 consists of highly communicative, fully networked systems. However, they must first and foremost be stable in order to remain operational. They must be both scalable and performant. As well as industrial networks, our in-depth expertise covers cyber security, back-up & disaster recovery and firewalls.
